With fresh, local and organic ingredients, the flavors radiate with each bite. You can’t go wrong when ordering, some of my favorites are the braised short ribs that fall off the bone at first touch, the trout which is simply delicious, and the burger, a classic.
The dining room was thoughtfully designed with lots of fun textures and natural materials. The floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to the slopes of Northstar Resort bring abundant light in and provide an open view to reflect on the day’s adventures. The kitchen set is visible from all vantage points in the restaurant.
Manzanita often hosts special events, activities, and holiday dinners. Offered daily are the Manzanita’s Chef’s Table, The Apres Experience, and Behind the Scenes Kitchen Tours.
Getting there:
Manzanita is located on the main floor of The Ritz-Carlton.
If you’re in the Village at Northstar, hop on the Highlands Gondola (free for pedestrians without ski equipment). This 8 minute ride will drop you on the back patio of the hotel. From there, take a left and head down the stairway and into the hotel.
If you are coming from outside of Northstar, head to The Ritz-Carlton via Highlands View Road off of HWY 267. This scenic 3 mile drive up to the hotel is beautiful. At the top of the hill, just past mid-mountain at Northstar, turn left into the entrance of The Ritz-Carlton. Valet parking only that will be discounted with restaurant validation.
The Ritz-Carlton Spa:
Take advantage of 17,000 square feet that make up The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Lake Tahoe. Amenities include separate men’s and women’s relaxation lounges, 16 treatment rooms, outdoor heated lap pool, saunas, steam rooms, whirlpool and rain shower experience for men and women. The Fitness Center includes workout rooms and aerobic studios with spin and pilates classes with amazing views of Northstar Mountain.
