Winter is on the horizon, and Northstar California is preparing to welcome skiers and riders back for another unforgettable season in the Sierra Nevada. The resort has announced that opening day for the 2025/26 winter season is scheduled for Friday, November 21, 2025, weather and conditions permitting. With the date set, attention now turns to season passes and all the benefits they bring.

Passes for Northstar are already on sale, giving mountain enthusiasts the opportunity to lock in their access ahead of time. The Epic Pass remains the flagship option, offering unlimited skiing not only at Northstar but also across a vast network of destinations worldwide. For those focusing primarily on Tahoe resorts, the Tahoe Local and Tahoe Value passes provide tailored access with different levels of flexibility to fit various ski schedules and holiday plans.

This season, Epic Pass holders will enjoy an expanded benefit: six Epic Friend Tickets, allowing friends and family to join at a reduced rate. Combined with early purchase savings, this perk makes securing a pass in advance especially appealing. Pricing currently places the full Epic Pass for adults around $1,075, while children’s passes (ages 5–12) are approximately $548, underscoring the value for anyone planning multiple ski days throughout the season.

While early-season snow conditions can vary, Northstar’s snowmaking capabilities and commitment to providing a premier guest experience help ensure that terrain is ready to enjoy on opening day. Visitors can look forward to world-class skiing and snowboarding, lively après-ski in the Village, and a season filled with opportunities to create lasting mountain memories.
