It’s officially Summer in Tahoe with the 4th of July just around the corner…the best time of the year in my opinion.  And North Lake Tahoe knows how to Summer – with festivals, parades, fireworks and live music galore, there is always something to do in this beautiful corner of the world. Get your calendar ready and start planning:

Your Week-Long 4th of July Celebration Itinerary:

King’s Beach Fireworks and Beach Party, July 3 An all-day long celebration includes a beer/wine garden and food vendors lining the beach. Grab $25 preferred seating for the fireworks show at 9:30pm

Downtown Truckee Parade and One-Mile Firecracker Race, July 4thOrganize a float, run in the 1-mile race down Donner Pass Road, or just sit back and watch the festivities – any way you do it, it’s always a great time.

Donner Lake Fireworks, July 4thWatch an always spectacular fireworks show at 9:30pm on the 4th over Donner Lake, pay $6 to enter the park or grab a view from all over Truckee.

Tahoe Donner Summer Concert on the Green, July 5 – 6 Local food, great music and two days of family fun.

My Summer Favorites:

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, July – August These guys put on an amazing performance. You don’t have to be into theatre, you just have to have an open mind and enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe.

North Tahoe Ale Trail Check out this map of all of the local breweries that line the Tahoe Basin…and then pack your bag, grab your bike or hiking shoes and check them all of your list this Summer.

Alibi Ale Works in Truckee Music, Comedy, Open Mic, Bingo and Trivia, there is always something fun going on here.

Truckee Thursdays, June 13 – Aug 29 Local food, beverages, music, crafts and always new and exciting vendors to explore. Come hungry and grab one of the many free shuttles that run all over Truckee so you don’t have to worry about driving or parking.

Outdoor Summer Movies at Squaw, Every Thursday July 11 – Aug 29 A gigantic movie screen, a fun family animated movie and a view of Squaw’s epic mountains is something everyone can get behind.
