With over two feet of snow gracing our mountaintops last week and more to come this weekend, its safe to say that winter is finally upon us once again. And before we know it… the lift lines will be full and the holidays will be here.
The Mountain Operations team at Northstar, CA. has been hard at work all summer to get ready for what’s looking like another amazing winter here in the mountains. The snowmaking team is scheduled to start making snow this weekend as temperatures will surly cooperate, while lifts are slated to turn for the public on November 18th or sooner, depending on snowloads… expect to have plenty of terrain to ski should you decide to carve your turkey in Tahoe this year.
New this season at Northstar, the top of The Vista Express underwent significant changes as all terrain parks will now be accessed through one single entrance gantry, expertly crafted in house by our very own terrain park manager Mike Schipani. This significant change will provide guests with a much clearer definition of terrain park runs from normal ski terrain while better defining various park sizes and features, ultimately ensuring greater safety and enjoyment for our guests looking to get radical this year.
Long overdue…the most photographed, East Ridge ski run, recently underwent a significant trail widening project to enhance lakeviews and make a safer skiing environment for those early morning guests racing to fresh gladed powder along the ridge.
Also on the Vista side, several hundred trees were cleared to provide our ever expanding ski and race teams with a one of a kind training facility adjacent to the Logger’s Loop ski run…surely to aid in the ongoing production of many future Olympians for years to come.
