There’s a lot happening in the food scene in Truckee! We invite you check out these new “must try” restaurants and stores… you won’t be disappointed.
- Morgan’s Lobster Shack: While not entirely new to Truckee, Morgan’s just re-opened after a fire and is better than ever. Morgan’s is both a restaurant and fish market offering the freshest seafood in Tahoe. Their lobster rolls are as good as you’ll find on the Maine coast. Or, take home some fresh salmon to grill for dinner.
- Tahoe Oil and Spice: With over 50 stainless steel fustis filled with fresh, premium and flavor-infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for. The chipotle and the fused blood orange olive oils are a couple of our favorites. The store also features spice rubs, honey, mustards, pastas, and jams.
- Mountain Valley Meats: Truckee’s newest butcher shop offers quality products sourced locally including antibiotic, hormone free, pasture-raised products. Their house made sausages are delish – try the chili cilantro sausage!
- Marg’s World Taco Bistro: This restaurant offers a fresh take on the taco by blending traditional Latino flavors with global ingredients and cooking techniques. They feature everything from a Banh Mi taco to a Caprese taco. Or, take the easy way out and order the Six World Taco Sampler. They also serve a broad selection of margaritas to go along with your meal.
