Celebrating the 4th of July in Lake Tahoe is a tradition many families share and look forward to throughout the year.  With the 4th of July holiday falling on a Thursday this year the entire week is jam packed with fun events throughout Lake Tahoe and Truckee. From classic fireworks, skiing, beer festivals and free live music the week is sure to be full of excitement and fun! 

Here is a guide to the highlights:

July 3-7th – Lake Tahoe 4th of July Freedom Fest at Squaw Valley  – Skiing and riding from 8am – 2pm, live music, events, and fireworks!

July 3rd – Yoga Squaw’d – Free Yoga in the Village at Squaw Valley. 

July 3rd – Truckee Summer Music in the Park Series – Featuring The Stone Foxes. Don’t forget your beach blanket or folding lawn chairs.

July 3rd – Kings Beach Fireworks – The celebration is all day with beach activities, food & drink vendors, and the fireworks display after the sun sets. You may want to arrive early to secure a good spot for viewing. 

July 4th – Firecracker Mile  – A fun one-mile run and annual tradition that takes place in Truckee. 

July 4th – Fourth of July Celebration Fireworks at West End Beach, Donner Lake – Family friendly event with beach games and fireworks. Purchase tickets in advance. 

July 4th – Truckee Fourth of July Parade – A Truckee tradition. 

July 4th – 74th Annual Tahoe City Fireworks Display​ at Commons Beach, Tahoe City. A classic show that has been names one of America’s best! 

July 5th – 7th – Beerfest and Bluegrass Festival at Northstar California
