Our current self-quarantine orders have me eagerly awaiting summer and the return of Tahoe golf. 9-holes in the evening with friends or family has always been a staple in my life. My 2-year-old son Gavin is beginning to grasp the basic concept of the game. Watching him navigate the grip and make contact with the ball has added a fresh aspect of the game for me.

This summer we will start a new tradition as the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship is coming to Old Greenwood. I am eager to see the best compete on our home turf. My love for the game and roots in the golf industry make this an exciting addition to our summer activities for me and my family. Old Greenwood is stunningly beautiful, and I look forward to seeing it shine on TV. The towering pines and backdrop of snowcapped peaks will have the players and audiences back home in awe. Tahoe golf is always a stunning slight for people to see on TV, and Old Greenwood is the most gorgeous in the area.

The exposure that the Barracuda Championship will provide for Old Greenwood and Truckee is enthralling from a market perspective. The Old Greenwood market has consistently sustained a healthy market balance with low inventory and despite a lack of knowledge. Owners really love their community. The 1/17 fractional ownership program has been an adequate feeder for relatively low number of whole ownership properties, adding a new avenue of exposure should bode well for the market. I am not expecting immediate market growth, but this tournament will add a distinguishing reputation to the Old Greenwood name in our feeder Northern California markets and nationwide. 

Golf is at the pinnacle of summer activities for me and my family, but at no shortage of camping, hiking, swimming, biking, boating, yard work, fishing, river floating, etc. My family and I feel extremely fortunate to have direct access to all these wonderful Tahoe activities. The difficult part becomes collectively deciding on which activity to do first. Whatever shoes I am wearing, I look forward to seeing you out there. Stay healthy.
