A winter weather advisory is in effect with opportune timing for the holiday season to kick off this weekend. There’s a high chance of snow through the week and into the weekend bringing the white Thanksgiving we’ve been wishing for. As Mother Nature delivers on El Niño’s promises, let’s fulfill a promise to ourselves to enjoy our friends and family, and be grateful for every person we encounter this holiday season. Bring your loved ones to Northstar to make warm, lasting memories with the help of Northstar’s hospitality staff who have lined up a series of holiday themed events that are sure to make lasting impressions on young and old alike.
Kick off the long weekend on Wednesday with live music in the Village at Northstar from 2pm to 5pm. Enjoy the Chad Wilkins Duo and their rootsy folk anthems that carry themes of love and gratitude. What better way to get into the Thanksgiving mood? There’s live music every afternoon through the weekend as well.
On Thursday night if you’d prefer to go out for Thankgiving dinner, Northstar has you covered with their Tavern 6330 Thanksgiving Buffet from 3pm to 9pm on Thursday November 26th. Make a reservation to enjoy a traditional holiday feast complete with every kind of dessert your heart desires.
On Saturday evening the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is a special event not to be missed. The ceremony starts at 5:15 by the ice skating rink in the Village at Northstar.
There are also some ongoing weekend activities to enjoy at your leisure:
~The ice skating rink opens today and is free to the public. They have ice skate rentals available as well if you didn’t bring your own ($10), and operates from noon until 9pm weather permitting. The ice skating rink is located in the heart of the Village at Northstar and is surrounded by fire pits, loungy couches, and snack/bar options.
~At various location throughout the Village at Northstar, kids can write letters to Santa! Letters will be special delivered to Santa in time for Christmas.
~From noon-3pm Friday-Sunday kids of all ages can enjoy a Sleigh Ride through the Village! Sleigh rides will start and finish by Mikuni.
~From 3pm-6pm Friday-Sunday there is complimentary face painting. Are there any aspiring reindeer out there? I hope to see some!
~Every afternoon at 3:45 Friday-Sunday Join Ripperoo for a fun and festive parade in the village! All ages are welcome; there will be noisemakers, beads, plenty of smiles, and you get to hang out with Ripperoo!
~From 4pm-6pm Friday-Sunday complimentary holiday crafts in the village are available to kids of all ages.
