While it may seem a little early, Lake Tahoe recently received its first snow last night.  Sporadic weather treated us to moments of sun interspersed with flurries, and a sudden drop in temperatures had us all reaching for our puffy coats. But fear not, the weatherman assures us that the sun will make a triumphant return in the coming weeks, and we’ll return to the more usual fall cycles.

For me, this early snowfall is a welcome reminder of the upcoming powder skiing and the myriad of fun activities that come with the changing seasons. While the waiting game for fall might feel a bit challenging this year, I plan to fill it with active recreation in preparation for the adventures that await in the winter.

A Local Event to Look Forward To:
One of my favorite local events, the Truckee Ski & Snowboard Swap, is just around the corner, and I’d like to invite you to be a part of it. This event is not only a fantastic opportunity to find great gear but also a chance to support local youth recreation. You can contribute by donating, selling, or purchasing equipment through the Community Center.

40th Annual Truckee Ski & Snowboard Swap
Saturday, November 4th
11 am – 4 pm
Free for all ages
Community Recreation Center: 10981 Truckee Way, Truckee, CA 96161

I’ve always found something I needed at this event. They offer various snow sports equipment in a range of sizes and styles, including snowboard equipment. As a proud sponsor of this event, I look forward to seeing you there. It’s a chance to gear up for the season while giving back to our community.

Stay warm, stay excited, and let’s make the most of the changing seasons together.
