The New Year has come and gone and we have had another incredible couple of weeks at Northstar with plenty of holiday events and entertainment. I enjoy connecting with individuals over the holiday season who are either already owners or who are looking to purchase real estate at Northstar, because of what motivates them to want to buy here.
I am currently working with a family that has been actively looking at real estate in Tahoe-Truckee for a few years, and over the recent Christmas/New Year’s holiday they had their best vacation ever while staying at The Ritz-Carlton in the Mountainside community at Northstar. The mother and father of this family work hectic hours in the Bay Area and consequently, quality time with their kids is hard for them to come by. While at home in the Bay Area, they feel the need to work “overtime” whether it is office related or chores around the house. As many of my clients tell me, they feel a complete escape once they drop over the Sierra Crest and down Donner Summit with the ever familiar view of Donner Lake framed by the Mt. Rose/Carson Range.
Over their holiday week they were all skiing together as a family during the mornings, and racing sleds down the Home Run ski way in the afternoons. I invited them to experience the new Mountainside amenity Tree House, where they swam in the slopeside heated pool, roasted marshmallows around the campfire, played in the Tree Pod, and enjoyed movie time in the game room. They also took the gondola down to The Village at Northstar to visit the movie theatre and ice skating rink. Additionally, they explored a few restaurants in Truckee with their favorite being our locals’ favorite Cottonwood.
Once they had returned home to work they contacted me to tell me that they are excited to move towards ownership of a property this year, so that they may have a regular escape from their increasingly busy lives. As a father of two boys myself, I understand how special family time is and so these parents and I had multiple conversations about QTR (Quality Time Remaining). It will be fun and rewarding to help another family find their mountain getaway where they can come engage with their kids and enjoy the four seasons of mountain living.
