As temperatures warm up in Tahoe, I can’t help but get excited about pulling my boat out of storage. I grew up with a boat in our family, and have fond memories of many happy days on the water. Now that my wife and I have kids, we too have made boating an important part of our lifestyle. Like snow skiing, boating is one of the few recreational activities where a family can spend an entire day together and everyone is happy.
We have a wakeboarding/surfing boat, which allows us to not only cruise around on Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, Boca and Stampede Reservoirs, but we also get to play hard in the water. I grew up surfing in the ocean, and still have that passion. Wakesurfing gives me the opportunity to carve some turns in the waves without having to drive to the coast. My kids are picking it up as well; and now all four of us can shred behind our boat. Not only is boating a great way for our family to hang out, but we have many friends with boats and have made spending time on the lake a key aspect of our social lives. I’ve even been fortunate enough to have some of my valued clients out on my boat as well.
I plan to have my boat in the water by Memorial Day weekend. I hope to see you on the lake!
