Sierra Muse by Ming Poon
Ming Poon is an award winning photographer/director of photography based in Lake Tahoe, California. Passionate about outdoor pursuits, travel and making a difference, Ming is inspired by culture, nature, music, friends and family. In 2018, Ming received Powder Magazine’s prestigious Photo of the Year award. In 2019, Ming won the renowned Whistler Deep Winter Photo Challenge. Ming’s work has been featured in The New York Times, National Geographic, Outside, Backcountry Magazine, and a variety of publications throughout the globe. His work has also appeared in international commercial marketing campaigns for Swatch, Patagonia, YETI, Clif and more.
Ming first moved to Lake Tahoe, the jewel of the Sierra Nevada, in 2002 and became enthralled with all that the range has to offer. Known as the range of light, the Sierra are an infinite inspiration. From the biggest and oldest trees to the highest peaks in the lower 48, the opportunities are endless.
The desolate high alpine with no light pollution gives views of the stars and galaxy that remind us of our humble place in the universe. The snow covered peaks provide large canvases for some of the best snow athletes in the world to paint their masterpieces. It’s no wonder some of the greatest US photographers became enthralled with the Sierra and inspired Ming to follow his own path forward as a visual artist and mountain traveler.
Take a sneak peak at some of these beautiful images that can bring so much inspiration to your home.
The exhibit will be at the Muse Art Re-claimed for the next 2 months.
