Real Estate Pick of the Week – 123 Dave Dysart

123 Dave Dysart
$1,795,000
3 bed + loft, 4 bath, 4,102 sf
MLS # 20140045

Ideally situated midway between Lake Tahoe and Truckee, Lahontan was the first private-gated community to be developed in the Martis Valley in 1998.  Life at Lahontan centers around a premier golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf, and its magnificent all-season Camp Lahontan.  As Martis Camp and Schaffers Mill have evolved, Lahontan is transforming into a quiet, simple “Tahoe life” community.   Sales in Lahontan have been incredibly active over the last year, as buyers find value in the homesites and real estate.  Tahoe locals have found themselves aspiring to build and live in this vibrant year-round community, which offers simplicity and beautiful terrain that is wide open for exploration.  My pick of the week is in Lahontan and captures all of this, dating back to Lahontan’s inception.  On the market for only 30 days at an attractive price of $1,795,000, as compared to when Lahontan was the only gated, luxury community in Tahoe.

123 Dave Dysart is truly a legacy home.  This 3 bedroom, 4 bath home has great architectural line and a spacious 4000+ square foot floorplan. Rustic in charm and feel, this home has great curb appeal, with immediate homey warmth on the inside that makes you feel right at home. The great room flows beautifully with the kitchen, dining room, and breakfast nook.  The private master suite upstairs features a fireplace, and a really relaxing spa-style bathroom. The family room with loft can be easily converted into a fourth bedroom for a large family, if that is preferred to the game room with pool table which it is set up.  I, personally, envision camp-style bunks in addition to the gaming. The main level has two additional guest suites to accommodate everyone.

The setting is private and conveniently located near Camp Lahontan.  This forested, estate-sized parcel is fabulous for playing outside all months of the year. Adjacent is Lot 5, which will first be offered to the buyer of this home. There are plans for a beautiful guest house of approximately 750 square feet that was designed by Dennis Zirbel.

It would not be fair to sign out without telling you more about Camp Lahontan, the Pavilion, and the Golf Lodge.  Camp Lahontan is a magical place in a magnificent forest setting with five acres of childhood dreams-in-the-making along the picturesque shores of Gooseneck Reservoir. For those who love outdoor sports and games, they have volleyball, badminton, and basketball courts. Traditionalists can head for the shuffleboard area, clay tennis courts, or try their hand at horseshoe pitching. Swimmers of all ages can enjoy a full size recreation pool, children’s splash pool, lap pool, and jetted spa.

The Pavilion area is set up to keep everyone thoroughly entertained with all kinds of arts and crafts, games, children’s programs, and family events. Even the youngest family members have their own special place in our children’s playground. The picnic and barbecue areas are the perfect places to relax after enjoying a summer day of mountain biking or hiking on the adjacent trails.

The cornerstone of the Lahontan community is the Lodge. Situated upon a picturesque ridge, it is a warm, comfortable, and inviting haven where members and their guests share the Lahontan experience. The rustic elegance of the Lodge blends seamlessly with the area’s outstanding natural beauty. Its massive beams and glacier carved stones echo the region’s architectural heritage while reflecting the venerable character of traditional Tahoe resort lodges and family estates. Superb service and an outstanding menu make the Lodge the perfect retreat.
Homes under $2,000,000 that are of great quality and in a really special gated community are not readily available in our Tahoe market today.  Lahontan is one community to keep an eye on, if this home does not capture your heart.
