Nothing says Spring better to me than the excitement of arguably the greatest sporting event of all time….The Masters.
And even more so after such an unbelievable amount of snow this winter…the thoughts of warm summer weather, green grass and playing golf is very much on the mind now.
For me, watching The Masters, is more than just watching a golf tournament on tv… it brings me back to growing up, curling up on the couch all day, watching the best in the game battle it out on Sunday with my father and brother. The calming tone of the commentators, roars of the patrons, historic grounds of this Alister MacKenzie masterpiece, and the hopes that maybe this year will be the year for Tiger Woods to put on another green jacket make this hands down my favorite event of the year.
As i’m writing this to you, i can’t help but flashback to countless nostalgic rounds played on our home course with my father and brother with the same hopes to claim victory over my older brother.
Needless to say… this week i’m feeling the magic of Augusta and the game of golf, in anticipation for a full summer of golfing with my own kids and sharing my knowledge of this life long sport that I hope will help to shape their character and teach endless lessons of humility.
