Northstar California is now up and running for the 2014/2015 season and Mother Nature is starting to show her white winter colors. This year, as Bill Rock steps out of his role as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Vail Resort’s three resorts in Lake Tahoe and moves on to Vail Resort’s new addition, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons in Park City, Utah, we have a new face to turn to here at Northstar- Beth Howard. Howard is now entering into her 30th year with Vail Resorts. Her journey started back in 1985 as a college intern at Beaver Creek, chopping vegetables. Many shifts, changes, positions and experiences have lead her to Northstar where she will be overseeing everything from mountain operations to village activities.
Howard’s main focus for this year is to elevate guest experience. This includes everything from parking, off-hill activities, grooming, lifts, food, lodging, service and everything that contributes to a guest’s day at the resort.
Building on the fun tradition of free s’mores every day at 3:30pm in The Village, this year Northstar is going to start an on-mountain tradition called Toast. Every day at 2pm (starting December 19) a commemorative toast of bubbly will be held on the East Ridge around a fire pit surrounded by adirondack chairs and warm blankets.
With Northstar California rated #8 this year by Ski Magazine for service and #24 overall in the West, Howard sees the advantage of building upon the solid foundation that Northsar has built thus far, being known for elevated service and luxury lifestyle.
We look forward to seeing you here this season to experience for yourself some of the new and exciting traditions that are starting here at Northstar California.
