My favorite Truckee store is Riverside Studios located Old Town Truckee. This store, owned by 4 local woman artists, is the place to go for a handcrafted, inspiring, unique gifts for yourself or anyone else on your list. Two jewelers, one leather worker and a potter make up the 4 owners. Also available in the shop is a meticulously picked mix of other local artist work including, greeting cards, candles, clothing, paintings and much more. There is always great circulation and always a reason to come in to see what’s new.
Besides the excitement of shopping in a great store, be sure to check out the fun events that happen every month. Every First Friday of the month the main walls in the shop switch artwork and there is an art opening during downtown’s First Friday event including live music, food and drink. Come get connected to the art and meet these amazing artists for yourself each month. Another event to come out for is during Truckee Thursday’s (every Thursday June, 13 through August 29th). Shoppers will again find complementary beverages and a Riverside Studios booth out on the street.
This place makes me happy because of the warm, welcome feeling as you walk-in, the quality products and the fun events where you are bound to meet a new friend and discover incredible local art.
