Mountainside is alive with excitement and growth! At the center of all the new activity is the construction of Tree House – a year round recreation clubhouse for all Mountainside families.
Recently, the TMR team had the opportunity to meet with the architects of Tree House, Clare and Steve Walton from Walton Architecture + Engineering. They shared with us their vision for this family-friendly amenity designed to reflect the whimsy of a kid’s tree house. Its hallmark crisp, clean Mountain Modern architectural style features large beams that replicate tree trunks, a bridge entryway, and extensive use of glass that highlights the expansive views of the Carson Range.
Destined to be the social hub of the Mountainside community, Tree House is designed with the entire family in mind. Its location directly adjacent to a ski run will allow families to meet up before or after an exhilarating day on the slopes. Indoor recreational features include a family game room with shuffle board and board games, a kids’ video game room, a juice and coffee bar, and a fitness center with locker rooms. Outdoor amenities include a family friendly pool with a shallow end for small children and a deeper pool jumping zone, as well as a pool volleyball area and hot tub. An outdoor activities lawn will feature possible bocce ball courts, basketball and volleyball courts, and a firepit.
With construction now well underway, Tree House has an anticipated completion date of Summer 2014.
