The Truckee – Tahoe area just received it’s first real snowfall of the season. More is on the way adding to the Halloween festivities. Early snow storms mean early ski resort openings. Squaw Valley / Alpine Meadows are ready to open November 11th with the other resorts like Northstar opening November 18th. So dust off those skis and snowboards because it’s time.
Lodging can be difficult to find once the season gets underway. If your vacation plans are bringing you to the mountains it is a great time to look into real estate in the Truckee – Tahoe area. Inventory in the ski resort communities are ripe for the picking with great deals to be made. Whether it is the mid-mountain ski-in and out properties at Northstar or Village living, there is no better time to own a second home.
Great Bear at Northstar
Owning a second home can be costly. Using the rental market can provide extra income to offset carry costs and the comfort of having your home already at the ski resort will make any ski trip/vacation a hassle free experience. Once you are settled in at home you won’t have to commute with the masses to the resorts in the morning and battle for a parking spot. Lunch could be spent at home before your afternoon turns. Ski until the lifts close and don’t worry about being stuck in traffic back to town. Resort living is not for everyone but it could be for you.
