You’ve Found The “Lost Sierra”

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity participate in a wonderful event at Grizzly Ranch. This beautiful gated golf community is located north of Truckee in Plumas County and is truly a must see. The Bob Cupp designed course is now one of the most highly rated tracks in Northern California. Golf Digest awarded it in 2014 as the best course in the Sierra Nevada available for public play. One trait that you look for in a golf course is, was it a fun experience? Something that always stands out on a fun golf course is there will be at least one risk-reward tee shot on a par 4. Usually this means there will be a drivable par 4 and hole #11 at Grizzly checks that desired trait off the list.

While experiencing the golf club, my group was able to see one home from the 18th tee box that is currently on the market for $1.2M. A similar home in the golf community of Lahontan, located on the 18th hole, has a higher list price by $800K in the Truckee market. As you can see there is exceptional value in the homes at Grizzly Ranch compared to the Truckee resort communities. The values are reminiscent of an earlier time.

Absent of crowds and congestion the homeowners at Grizzly Ranch describe their community as “Just the right amount of remote”. You are located less than an hour from air travel, shopping and entertainment venues in Reno and Truckee. There is an exceptionally low density, Grizzly Ranch Master Plan has a maximum of 380 homesites on 1040 acres with numerous pre-approved plans available enabling a quick and easy build. If you love golf, privacy and summer in the mountains be sure to check out Grizzly Ranch, you will be pleasantly surprised.
