I still have big ambitions of climbing and skiing some high peaks in and around the Sierra as well as the annual Pilgrimage up to Mt. Shasta. I had a small window yesterday and took advantage of it with a fun climb and ski of the North Couloir of Mt Emerson in the Buttermilk range just outside of Bishop, CA. We hiked on dirt for a few hours until we hit the snow line, but then had a really nice skin up the drainage and a beautiful climb on soft snow in the couloir. It was such a fun day to get out and enjoy the high mountains in our big playground of the Sierras and has me very eager for all of the upcoming spring and summer activities in the sun.
