After record snowfall this winter, summer has finally made its way to Tahoe. And the TMR team had our annual Summer Solstice Celebration. The whole goal being to pack in as many summer activities as we can on the longest day of the year.
The festivities started bright and early over at Waterman’s Landing with a frosty dip into Lake Tahoe at 8:30 am. The team’s very own Colleen Loiseau — aka, our TMR resident Yogi, led everyone in a much needed shoreline Yoga class to break the chill of the lake and get everyone ready for a long day in the sun.
With everyone nice and relaxed, it was time to hit the water and explore the North Shore on stand up paddle boards and kayaks.
This proved to be quite the test for some as a round of accidental dips into the lake ensued. Luckily, the team rendezvoused with a boat that became a safe haven for those struggling with balance and navigational skills.
Waterman’s Landing offers a stand up paddle board and kayak rentals for daily – 3 day use. They also offer classes, tours and experiences for all ages, and ability levels.
The team was then treated to a wonderful lunch at a locals’ favorite — Garwoods, complete with appetizers and a few famous Wet Woodys. After lunch, the group split for the afternoon. Half went to enjoy a hike up picnic rock, while the other half made their way too Gray’s Crossing for a round of golf.
Everyone reconnected at PJ’s around 5 for drinks, dinner and live music on the lawn. This years summer solstice party was bittersweet because the night ended with a farewell to Jenna Reese, the teams transaction coordinator and all around stand-up gal. Overall, the day was a huge success.
